Dr. Joseph Pollak, a.k.a. “Dr. Joe”, has been practicing medicine since 1985. His first love at Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) was basketball but after graduating Yeshiva University, he continued at Rutgers University of Medicine, with a dual specialty in Family Medicine and Geriatrics. He is currently in private practice with his brother in Hoboken, New Jersey.
During the current Pandemic, there were many challenges for his practice, the patients, and their families. Office hours were limited and Telehealth was introduced. The Carlebach Shul, led by Rabbi Naftali Citron, was very helpful in these difficult times. Limited to Zoom, the Carlebach Service was still powerful and one could experience the music and spirituality of Shlomo Carlebach songs.
Dr. Joe, together with his wife Judy, are an integral part of the Carlebach Community. And yes, he still plays basketball.
